Named for the birth year of the league’s founders, the Babes have been playing baseball for 36 years in Solon. Seven teams of men 65 or older take the field of the community baseball diamonds for seven innings of softball, each team for about 32 games a year.

Each season starts in May, and at the outset, managers gather to draft new teams. Games are played at Solon Community Park. In a given week, each team will play two to three games over a two- or three-day period. By season’s end, each team has played 35 to 40 games – barring rainouts or games canceled due to temperatures exceeding 90 degrees.

In September we start our fall league on Tuesdays and Thursday’s. We play till the weather stops us. Starting at the end of January thru the end of April, we have a indoor league on Thursday mornings.
